Productivity & the Myths Attached to it.

I think on a daily we are bombarded by things that need to be done. For example it is currently 6:12 am, I have been up and haunted since 3:45, because I can't stop thinking of all the things I need to do before this week is over.

Beside being a prolific procrastinator, having a packed schedule just overwhelms me and I want to curl up in a ball and watch Love & Hip Hop. But that is not on the list of things to do, therefore I cannot do it.

In this video I talk about things that I have had to start inserting into my day to day, to ensure that I don't waste time unnecessarily. These are tips that I've gotten from my professors at school, my bosses, my mentors--and they've helped me let go of hang-up's I've had about certain things and become a much more productive person with the time that I have available.

I am a huge advocate for action plans and setting a time limit as soon as you set your goal.

One thing I didn't talk about in the video, that my boss pointed out to me recently is that I work very well with time lines and action plans. I am a huge advocate for actions plans and setting a time limit as soon as you set your goal. What I find this does is makes you completely accountable for what you need to get done, and gives you the extra push to finish the work on time.

So going forward, what tips do you have that can help us become more productive? I’d love to hear them, so leave a comment—we can have a chat!
