After spending seven years studying and working within the Fashion Industry in Toronto, Ontario, I decided to bring the experience I gathered in brand marketing, product development and retail, back to Guyana.
Here, in Georgetown, I manage a garment factory that produces work wear and protective apparel for industry, and have been able to successfully add medical apparel and custom mens shirts to our product offering.
In my spare time I spend copious amounts of time reading and listening to podcasts, and as such I began recording my own podcast that transitioned from fashion, business and technology, to all of those from the point of view of a woman fuelled by a fear of God.
On this site you’ll find some of all of the things I love. My column Fashioning Change is published twice a month in the business section of the Stabroek News Newspaper. The Building Brooke podcast marries business, fashion and life with the word of God and how it leads me. #MadeinGuyana highlights locally made products that I adore.
You can also head to TheNewCreativeClass.com if you want to see even more amazing Guyanese creatives that are taking the industry by storm. I’m constantly looking for new things to talk about, and new artists to add to the directory, so if you know of any send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
